AMERICANS OPPOSE IRON COUNTY’S PIPELINE AND WATER GRAB

Officials supporting the West Desert Water Grab were not happy.

A petition demanding that the Central Iron County Water Conservancy District halt its dangerous pipeline made major headlines earlier this month.

Right now, more than 80,000 folks have demanded that they want to keep water local, signing our petition in the name of the public interest.

The project’s home base will be in Pine and Wah Wah Valley – which are next door neighbors with Great Basin National Park. Water in those basins flows into Snake Valley, home to the national park, and also basins that are home to gems like the Fish Springs National Wildlife Refuge.

The project proponents are cavalier about the impacts upon the park, inaccurately denying that there will be any impacts. But federal reports and other data show that the water CICWCD wants doesn’t exist.

Once those straws go in the ground, the water won’t be coming back.
